The following quantities of ingredients will get you 12 triangular sandwich size cakes and 2 square waffle cakes.
- 200g (1½ cups) all purpose flour
- 125g (1 stick) salted butter
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- ¾ cup warm whole milk
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla flavour
For greasing the sandwich toaster:
- butter or margarine
Tools, utensils and equipment you’ll need
The following are the minimal tools and equipment you’ll need to bake the cake in a sandwich toaster and a waffle maker:
- Sandwich Toaster
- Hand mixer, whisk or blender
- Bowls
- Sieve (sifter)
Directions for baking the no-oven cake:
- Melt the butter for 40 secs in the microwave oven.
- Warm up the whole milk.
- Whisk the egg and the sugar in a bowl till pale and well combined. See the video below.
- Add the melted salted butter, the warm milk and vanilla flavour. Mix till well combined.
- Sift the all purpose flour and the baking powder into the mix in the bowl.
