Journalist Nizaar Kinsella has claimed that Chelsea’s top transfer target would actually choose to join them over Arsenal.
He told the London is Blue podcast that Victor Osimhen’s historical admiration for the club puts them in a better position to sign him than any of their London rivals.
It has been widely claimed that Osimhen is the number one target for a lot of people at Stamford Bridge when the transfer window opens again.
This is reportedly what Mauricio Pochettino is thinking too, with him also making the Napoli man his personal top target to play up front too.
A striker has been the main profile that the club are looking to buy, even if Nicolas Jackson has begun to find the net more regularly recently.
While the signing of the Nigerian international is not likely to occur in January, Kinsella has now claimed that the player has a love for the club that would see him choose them over their rivals.

Osimhen would choose Chelsea over Arsenal
He said: “It’s a bad market for strikers in January, and Osimhen is the striker that everyone wants. There’s no point in getting another young one now. He’d be a great fit, and Chelsea like him. Osimhen likes Chelsea, I had the information for a little while.
“He’s always loved Chelsea, loved Drogba. They’ve got some similarities. He’d be interested in Manchester United, but they’re not going to sign a striker. It’s basically Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs competing in the battleground and Osimhen would probably pick Chelsea out of the three.”
It remains to be seen though if the club feel like addressing the issue earlier, with another obvious option emerging for January.
Ivan Toney is likely to be on the move from Brentford, with it being reported that some at the club are great admirers of him and his talents.
